Receiving data from Movebank

Important

Connections with Movebank will be available through the Gundi Portal soon. To configure your integration, kindly reach out to Gundi Support  (support@projectgundi.org) for their assistance. 

 

Destination: EarthRanger

Description

This guide details how to set up an integration between Movebank and EarthRanger, via Gundi.

 

Scope

  • Wildlife movement data (location and tag id).
  • Accesory data, sensor data without GPS location.

 

Prerequisites 

Movebank

Owner: Requester.

  • Create a study in Movebank with the tracking devices you wish to share with EarthRanger. 
  • Unless the study is public, share that study with EarthRanger’s Movebank user  EarthRanger_Integrations. Important: Share as a 'Collaborator'.
  • Share the list of study IDs with Support. 
 
 

EarthRanger

Owner: Requester

  • EarthRanger site URL.
  • Create an authentication token for Gundi.
 
 

Gundi

Owner: Support

  • Access to Gundi v1.
  • An organization and outbound configuration created for this connection.
 
 

 

Configurations

Step 1: Configurations in Gundi v1

1.1 Add New Inbound Integration

Name: Include the study ID.

Owner: Select the organization created for this connection

Type: Movebank

Provider Key:  Leave it empty

Default Device Group: Leave it empty

Endpoint: https://www.movebank.org/movebank/service/direct-read

Token: Leave it empty

Login: EarthRanger_Integrations

Password: See 1Password

State:

Specify the study id as follows:

1.2 Edit Device Groups

Select correct destination (outbound integration) for this group

 

Limitations

Create one inbound per study ID.

The integration will soon be configurable through a new portal.
