Exclude Ecoscope Desktop from Norton 360 Security Scans

If Norton 360 is blocking Ecoscope Desktop or triggering security alerts, you can resolve this by adding the app folder to Norton's exclusion list in two places.

Before you begin

  • Make sure Norton 360 is installed and open on your computer.
  • You will need to know your Windows username to complete the folder path below.

Excluding Ecoscope Desktop

Step 1: Add the exclusion under Scans

  1. Open Norton 360 and go to the Security tab.
  2. Select Scans, then open the Exclusions tab.
  3. Add the following folder path:
    C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\ecoscope-desktop

Replace <YOUR USERNAME> with your actual Windows username — for example: C:\Users\jane\AppData\Local\ecoscope-desktop

Step 2: Add the exclusion under Advanced Security

  1. Return to the Security tab and select Advanced Security.
  2. Go to Antivirus, then open the Exclusions tab.
  3. Add the exact same folder path as above:
    C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\ecoscope-desktop

Once both exclusions are in place, Ecoscope Desktop will run without interruption from Norton 360.
