If Norton 360 is blocking Ecoscope Desktop or triggering security alerts, you can resolve this by adding the app folder to Norton's exclusion list in two places.
Before you begin
- Make sure Norton 360 is installed and open on your computer.
- You will need to know your Windows username to complete the folder path below.
Excluding Ecoscope Desktop
Step 1: Add the exclusion under Scans

- Open Norton 360 and go to the Security tab.
- Select Scans, then open the Exclusions tab.
- Add the following folder path:
C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\ecoscope-desktop
![]()
|
![]() |
Replace
<YOUR USERNAME>with your actual Windows username — for example:C:\Users\jane\AppData\Local\ecoscope-desktop

Step 2: Add the exclusion under Advanced Security
- Return to the Security tab and select Advanced Security.
- Go to Antivirus, then open the Exclusions tab.
- Add the exact same folder path as above:
C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\ecoscope-desktop
![]() |
![]() |

Once both exclusions are in place, Ecoscope Desktop will run without interruption from Norton 360.
