This release adds playback for audio report attachments, along with sync speed and reliability improvements for patrols, events, and app startup.

🌟 New Features

Audio Recording Playback

When you record an audio attachment on an event, you can now play it back before submitting. A playback control appears after recording, with Play/Pause and a slider showing elapsed and total time, so you can confirm the recording before accepting or re-recording it.

To use Audio Recording Playback:

  1. Open an event form and tap the audio attachment field.
  2. Record your clip and tap stop.
  3. Use the Play/Pause button and slider to review the recording.
  4. Tap the checkmark to accept, or the X to reject and re-record.

 

 
   


 

🚀 Improvements

Faster app start on slow connections: The app no longer waits for background sync to finish before opening the map. Sync now times out after a set interval and continues in the background instead of stalling app startup.

Accurate pending-sync status for attachments: Reports with inline photo or video attachments now show as pending sync until every attachment has finished uploading.

Faster subject sync for large organizations: Subject data now loads in fewer database transactions, reducing sync and login time for accounts with many subjects.

Fewer stray location points: Fewer unnecessary location points are recorded on login and app start when tracking isn't active.

Additional language support for iOS permission prompts: iOS permission messages, including the new microphone permission prompt, are now localized in all supported languages.

🛠️ Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where a second audio recording attempt on Android would silently fail to start.
  • Fixed an issue where turning off "Switch Tracked By Subject" during an active patrol could disassociate tracks from the patrol. The setting is now disabled while tracking is active.
  • Fixed an issue where a patrol could appear active even if location tracking failed to start. Patrol start now rolls back if tracking doesn't start successfully.
  • Fixed an issue where events could get stuck queued for sync after a token expired mid-upload. Uploads now retry through the refresh-token workflow.
  • Fixed an issue where patrols could get stuck queued for sync after a token expired mid-upload. Uploads now retry through the refresh-token workflow.
  • Fixed a rare crash related to background location tracking on Android.
