Platform-Specific Error Reference

This guide covers errors and issues that arise from the operating system environment when running the Ecoscope Desktop application — such as installation failures, permission conflicts, missing system dependencies, display rendering problems, and OS-level connectivity issues.

If your error appears after triggering a workflow run (e.g., during data processing, grouping, or export), please refer to Known Errors and Solutions Guide. This guide focuses exclusively on issues tied to how Ecoscope interacts with your specific operating system.

Each entry in this guide includes:
Error ID or Message — The exact text or code found in the error log, or a description of the visible symptom
Suggestion — Step-by-step actions to resolve the issue

If you cannot resolve the issue using this guide, contact the Support team and include:

  • Your OS and exact version (e.g., Windows 11, macOS 14 Sonoma)
  • The Ecoscope Desktop app version (visible in the app's About screen)
  • The exact error message or a screenshot
  • The steps you have already tried

A note on antivirus workarounds
The antivirus solutions in this guide are based on what has worked in practice for reported cases. Antivirus software is updated frequently and its behavior can vary between versions, configurations, and organizations. We cannot guarantee these steps will work in every environment. If the suggested steps do not resolve your issue, please contact Support so we can investigate further.
