Top Navigation Bar

The Top Navigation Bar is located along the top of the EarthRanger window. It provides quick access to essential functionalities including the EarthRanger menu, notifications, Alerts and logged-in user actions.

 

  • Name of the Protected Area and Map Quicklinks: Displays the name of the current protected area at the center of the title bar.
    • This dropdown menu, configurable via the admin site, allows users to save and easily access various map locations.
  • Connection Status: Indicates EarthRanger's operational status (Server, Network and Realtime status) through a color-coded dot. Click the dot to view a breakdown of the status of each component.
  • Healthy Status: A green dot signifies that Server, Network, and Real-time statuses are functioning properly.
    • Realtime Status: A green dot indicates active data exchange with the EarthRanger server. An "Activity" message displays the duration since the last data message was received.
    • Network: A green dot indicates communication with the network.
    • Server: A green dot indicates communication with the server connected to your site.
  • Red Dot: A red dot indicates an issue. If it remains red for an extended period, contact your local administrator.

Important: A red dot indicates an issue. Notify your local administrator if the dot stays red for more than a short time. 

 
  • Messages: Displays internal messages for communication between rangers and operation rooms.
  • EarthRanger Notifications: Provides updates from EarthRanger on new features, system outages, and developments within the platform.
  • User Settings: Access user-specific configurations:
    • Cookie Settings: Manage privacy settings related to cookies collected through EarthRanger.
    • User Profiles: Switch between available profiles on the site, if available (see more here: Profiles).
    • Log Out: Sign out of the current EarthRanger session.
