Create a Connection

To create a Connection, you'll only need to follow these simple steps:

  1. Select a Data Provider
  2. Configure the Data Provider
  3. Select a Destination
     

Step 1: Select a Data Provider

Start by navigating to the Connections section and click on Create Connection.

Note: If you don’t see this option, your Gundi Organization role may be view-only. Contact your Organization's admin or Support to proceed.

From the list of supported technologies, you can:

  • Search or browse to find available integrations.
  • Select the technology you’d like to integrate.
  • View details about requirements, setup steps, and configuration instructions.
     

Integrating a Device: Three Main Methods

1. Using Supported Technologies

Best for: Devices already compatible with our platform.

  • Select the device’s manufacturer from the list of supported technologies.
  • Configuration is minimal.
  • Gundi will fetch data from the source every few minutes.
  • Recommended if your device is officially listed as supported.

2. Webhooks  

Best for: Receiving updates in real-time or near real-time.

  • Ideal for reducing data latency.
  • Your system will push data directly to Gundi.
  • Assistance from Support will be needed to complete the integration.

3. API Push

Best for: Integrating with Gundi when other options are not available.

  • Your system will push data directly to our API endpoint.
  • Might require development effort. See our API documentation.

Choosing the Right Method

  • Check the supported technology list first. If your device is listed, this is the simplest option.
  • If not supported, consider whether your system can push data via API or if it’s easier to receive updates via webhook.

Step 2: Configure the Data Provider

You'll be prompted to enter:

  • Organization: Determines ownership and visibility of the Connection.
  • Connection Name: Name to help identify this integration within Gundi.

You may also need to complete the required fields (marked with an asterisk *) and optionally configure additional parameters to set up the Connection with the data provider. Refer to the documentation available on the right side of your screen for guidance on how to complete this step.
