EarthRanger Mobile Version 3.4.0

EarthRanger Mobile 3.4.0 lets field teams follow up on an Event by adding a related Event to it, which groups both into an Incident for the operations room. This release also adds an End button to the Patrols view, Sinhala language support, and fixes for Event forms and Shared Events.

Note: The Add Event button appears on read-only Events only when your site uses Incidents and your account has permission for the Incident Event Category. Review the Add a Related Event section below before deploying to field teams.

🌟 New Features

Add a Related Event

When you're sent to follow up on an Event in the field, such as a fire alert, an analyzer alert or a report from another ranger, you can now record what you find as a new Event linked to the original. When you submit it, EarthRanger groups both Events into an Incident, so your operations room sees the full story in one place in EarthRanger Web.

To add a related Event:

  1. Open a read-only Event from the Events list or the map.
  2. Tap Add Event in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Choose an Event Category and Event Type.
  4. Complete the Event form and tap Submit.

Each related Event you add creates an Incident. To view an Incident, see which Events it contains, or remove an Event from it, use EarthRanger Web.

Note: Events created by other users are only available on your device when Shared Events is turned on in Settings.

🚀 Improvements

End a Patrol from the Patrols view: An End button now appears on your active Patrol in the Active tab, so you can close a Patrol without returning to the map.

Sinhala language support: EarthRanger Mobile is now available in Sinhala.

Updated translations: Translations have been refreshed across all supported languages, including updated Mongolian Event text.

Consistent Event Type order: Event Types built with the Event Form Editor v2 now appear in the same order as v1 Event Types.

🛠️ Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where collection fields didn't display values already selected in an Event. Selected values now display correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Submit button stayed disabled on Event forms with a conditional URL field. Forms with conditional URL fields can now be submitted.
  • Fixed an issue where Shared Events could lose updates or be removed from the device during sync. Shared Events now stay up to date after each sync.
